Keyboard Gameplay of Rock Band 3
I still haven’t decided what instrument I’ll be playing first when I play through Rock Band 3 after launch, but I think I’ve narrowed it down to Keys or Pro-Guitar. While I normally play guitar in Rock Band, there’s something about the Keys that’s calling to me. Maybe this video preview prepared by Harmonix of keyboard gameplay will be able to explain it.
I decided on Pro-Keys first out of necessity, as the Pro-Guitar that I will pick may not be released within the year.

I’m sooo looking forward to keys the most I think
I had a chance to try out Pro Keys on Easy at PAX and failed miserably. I think I hit about 30% of the notes but only because they eventually repeated and I knew where my hand was on the keyboard by that time. This is the instrument I’m most looking forward to playing when RB3 comes out!
I say hold off on Pro-Guitar until the Squire comes out, because it’ll feel alot more normal playing an actual guitar than the buttoned one!
Am I the only one really tempted to get a real keyboard plus MIDI-adapter instead? There must be a MIDI-keyboard out there that’s only marginally more expensive than the MadCatz controller…
I’m actually buying the RB3 keyboard because it’s small enough to sit on my desk right next to my audio mixer… and it’s also a game controller!
Duke of Gravity can’t get enough of the Power of Love
