Meatloaf DLC Coming Next Week? (Rumor)

If you are helping yourself to some Meatloaf, be sure to take it with a big grain of salt, because this is still a rumor for now, but appears that one of those affected in today’s unfortunate layoffs at Harmonix may have spilled the beans on next week’s DLC artist. Someone going as “Chaz” over at the GamingTrend.com forums dropped this little nugget of info (OK, I’ll stop with the terrible food puns now):

In case anyone was still buying DLC in order to keep me gainfully employed, you can stop. Your efforts have failed. I no longer work there.

On that note, Paradise by the Dashboard Lights is one of the songs getting released on Friday.

While I’m not sure who “Chaz” is, the blog registered to his profile features posts on his experiences working at Harmonix dated all the way back to 2008. It also is interesting to note that the comment was edited to remove the Meatloaf song posting later on, although it may have already been too late. Guess we’ll have to wait until Friday to see if we’re getting a big helping of Meatloaf (I couldn’t resist that one).

DLC is released on Friday now?

    • RockBandAide says:

The post was clearly written hastily and subsequently edited to remove that, so I have a feeling it meant that it was going to be announced on Friday.

  • 24Fan says:

OH MY GOD, If we get all of Bat out of Hell I will literally go into the streets screaming the lyrics to the song “Bat ot of Hell”.

I hope to the Rock Gods that this is true, even if it was on PBTDL, I would still be incredibly overjoyed.

    PLEASE BE TRUE!!!!

    • Skydog says:

If you are streaking also that’d make this 20x better… no matter your gender LOL.

      • T says:

20x? What do you think this is Guitar Hero? Our Multiplier only goes as high as 12x. 😉

        • smacd says:

a bassist gets 6x2x2x2x2=96x multiplier in a 4 piece band with full overdrive going and max personal multiplier.

If the vox get overdrive in All-Instruments mode, in a 5 piece band the bassist could be getting as much as 192x per note.

Although no, it wont ever show more than 12x on any specific person, and only in solo bass. Since in a band the overdrive multipler is over by the score IIRC.

          • smacd says:

            er. I messed that up.

Band Multiplier 8x at full overdrive, bass multiplier of 6x = total bass multiplier of 48x.

If the vox gets it in All Instruments (I don’t recall), it would be 10x*6x = 60x for the bassist max.

My error was in the band overdrive stacking. They add, not multiply.

          • T says:

It was just a joke…but if you want to get technical it’s just a single instrument multiplier (where Warriors of Rock can go as high as 36x without any band members)

  • DVD Smith says:

Even just Paradise would be so awesome.

  • Bryan says:

I would do ANYTHING for meatloaf. But I won’t do that.

    • Skydog says:

Well let me just make you a plate of it now 🙂
What will you do for me?
      😛

    • Croq says:

      Let me sleep on it
Baby, baby, let me sleep on it
      Let me sleep on it
I’ll give you an answer in the morning…

  • JTHomeslice says:

    BUT I WON’T DO THAT

  • T says:

Yeah, I’m with those that are assuming we’ll see “I Would Do Anything for Love…” if this ends up being true. Epic piano intro + natural duet (even if it’s only towards the end) aligns itself nicely with that song.

  • Dorkmaster Flek says:

Oh snap, this is wicked awesome if true! I’ve been saying PbtDL needs to be in RB so badly now that we have keys and harmonies!

  • Andre says:

    BAT OUT OF HELL?????

    PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! INSTABUY!!!!!!!!

  • Hines says:

I hope this isn’t true. Please, no more classic/soft rock for a while.

    • 24Fan says:

Meat Loaf is anything but “soft rock”.

Before you make assumptions, please go onto youtube and listen to “Bat Out of Hell” and “Paradise by the Dashboard Light”.

      • Skydog says:

        People just like to Troll.

        • Hines says:

Honestly stating a preference is not trolling. In fact, I would say that calling anyone a troll simply because their opinion differs from yours is a much better example of trolling.

          • T says:

Except you posted one of the most generic non-arguments in terms of DLC complaining. We had Stone Sour and Linkin Park a few weeks back.

DLC releases are a swinging pendulum. Sometimes they’ll swing one way for a while and then swing back the other way for just as long. I recall a period of time where we were getting one or two modern packs a week and didn’t see anything classic for 2-3 months.

It’s called patience. Somebody else is getting their turn with music they like/want. The pendulum will swing back in time to where you’ll get stuff you want and that person will have to wait.

          • Hines says:

I agree with you that it was a non-argument, T. It was not intended to be an argument. There is, however, a difference between stating a preference, and complaining.

I’m not making this about classic music vs modern music. Yes, there may have been a time when there was little classic music being released, but there was a great variety of other genres being represented during that period of that time. I don’t need for music I would love to buy to be released every week. I would just prefer variety.

I stated a preference that was simple and short, and it was blown out of proportion and escalated by others. I did not intend for this to happen, but I do need to defend myself against those that unfoundedly initiated said escalation.

This will be my last post on the topic.

          • Croq says:

Hines is definitely not a troll. While he may have questionable musical tastes :), he’s certainly entitled to his opinions, and he doesn’t get bent out of shape if someone disagrees with his opinions.

      • Hines says:

I think you assumed too much. It definitely falls under classic rock, and he does have some songs that I would classify as soft rock. There was a reason I included both.

        • Cactaur says:

A possibility for the recent trend of more classic rock is that there are more bands from those times are more likely to have keys, which I know Harmonix wants to consider now. I know there are lots of bands nowadays that also use keys, just a thought to try to explain the trend.

  • ThatDudeBo says:

LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL I’LL BE GONE WHEN THE MORNING COMES!!! 😀

  • JP says:

I’m shitting myself with excitement. I don’t care if people think he’s corny, I don’t think anyone makes music more perfect for a rock band game than “The Loaf”.

I did the same damn thing.
Curse you, Fruit of the Looms, curse you.

      …JESUS.
      H.
      EFFIN’.
      CHRISTMAS TREE.

      Loaf. LOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAFFFFF

This is the first time I’ve been genuinely excited about RB3 in over a month. Honest to god, I’ve needed this in so many ways. Bat Out of Hell full album DLC has been my one and only full album request from the first day I joined RB back in ’08. And I know that “Paradise” =/= full album DLC, but it just seems like a no-brainer for HMX and Meat to pass up. The whole album would rock so hard on all instruments and to JESUS CHRIST WE CAN DUET “PARADISE” NOW HOLY GOD THEY *GOTTA* INCLUDE THE PHIL RIZZUTTO PLAY-BY-PLAY PART and I must say that I’m really excited by all this and HOLY SCHLITZ IF WE GET TO PLAY “BAT OUTTA HELL” ON THE PIANER I’M GONNA STROKE OUT AND carry on, sir, carry on.

  • tdd says:

Hey Harmonix! “Bat Out Of Hell” WHOLE ALBUM DLC is a must!

  • Jason2087 says:

I most certainly hope it’s true.

  • Croq says:

    I’m praying this is true!!!

  • Cactaur says:

Please be true, Please be true, Please be true, Please be true, Please be true, Please be true…

  • Stephen H says:

This would definitely be awesome!! Instabuy, though I’d most like to get Bat Out of Hell II full album (its the one I’m most familiar with).

  • QB8Young says:

    Please no!

  • soup567 says:

I hope this is true. I want some Meatloaf DLC.

  • binkified247 says:

I hope I’m not the only one that would like to see “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now.” I would also like to see “Hot Patootie” from the Rocky Horror soundtrack.

    • Cactaur says:

If you’re willing, Guitar Hero has “Hot Patootie” already, along with “Sweet Transvestite” and “Time Warp”.

      • binkified247 says:

I saw that. I’ve just put too much money into Rock Band to switch over at this point.

  • SamFo says:

Since when do songs get released on a friday? Announced?

  • Jason Cox says:

Hope this rumour is true, been waiting ages for Meatloaf in RB!

  • ZosoBaron says:

Oh no, not Meat Loaf again!

    😉

  • Kyle says:

I guess this will counter the gh release of “The Rocky Horror Picture Pack”.

  • christoph says:

Please! For the love of god be true!!!! Bat out of Hell, whole album dlc!!!!

  • FoxForever says:

Whose Meat Loaf? His name is Robert Paulson for crying out loud!

    • Whizzer says:

And it’s spelled “Who’s”, for crying out loud!
It’s just his stage name, for crying out loud!

      • FoxForever says:

I know it’s spelled wrong the minute I posted it. There’s no “delete” button on here. Anyway it was just a joke for crying out loud!

  • Xanadu says:

I never really liked Meatloaf (the food), but the band is decent.

  • Joe Cam says:

Oh man… this would be great if only I could make a “Bob Bitchtits” character in the game…

  • gladiatory2k says:

hehe my wife and I can make our friends very uncomfortable with Paraddise by the Dashboard light. Question is, will they chart the moaning?

  • Lord Mhoram says:

Meat Loaf being one of the artists I wanted since I first picked up a plastic guitar I am so hoping this is true – and that we get a big pack or a full album.

  • Lord Mhoram says:

What I’d really like to see is a Jim Steinman Pack – he’s the songwriter/producer that did all of MeatLoaf’s best stuff. And Bonnie Tyler’s and a Sisters of Mercy Song (More) and Pandora’s Box (a female vocals band he did). All great stuff for the game.

  • the Dave says:

Brick!!!! Oh please be true, this will be a crushing let down if not!

    • Croq says:

I’m hoping this is true as well, but have prepared myself that it may be a total fabrication…

  • JR says:

MY NUMBER ONE MOST WANTED DLC! PLEASE BE TRUE!!!
