Rock Band Shout Out at the Golden Globes

Sir Paul McCartney presented at last night’s Golden Globe awards for Best Animated Feature, and right after taking the stage, he made a nice little reference to Rock Band! Check it out above (reference is at the beginning, so no need to watch the whole thing).

Sorry for the quality. If you know of a better source, let me know and I can replace.

DLC for the Week of January 5th

OK, this is pretty sweet, and VERY unexpected.  Joystiq is reporting that three live tracks featuring Sir Paul McCartney will be greeting us as DLC during the first week of the new year.  I’m still labeling this as a rumor for now until I hear official confirmation from Harmonix, but for Joystiq to be running it, there has to be some sort of weight to it.  Here’s the tracks they are listing:

  • Paul McCartney – “Band on the Run (live)”
  • Paul McCartney – “Jet (live)”
  • Paul McCartney – “Sing the Changes (live)”

Until I hear otherwise, I’m assuming these will end up in Rock Band, and not Beatles: Rock Band, but how cool would it be if they could be played in both?!

Update: It’s official! Harmonix made the announcement this morning here!  All tracks will be playable in Rock Band and Lego Rock Band, but sadly not the Beatles: Rock Band.

Sir Paul McCartney on David Letterman Tonight

Sir Paul McCartney

This little bit of information just landed in my inbox right as I was ready to go home and catch up on some sleep… glad I didn’t leave yet! Looks like Sir Paul McCartney is going to be on “The Late Show with David Letterman” tonight. The announcement goes on to comment that there are “sure to be some surprises during his interview and performance.”

First of all, he’s performing?! NICE! Secondly… Surprises? TB:RB surprises? We can only find out tonight by watching!
