RBN DLC for 7/26
Wow, ANOTHER awesome day for the RBN. Besides my personal favorite The Gufs, we also have songs from fan favorite Jonathan Coulton, RBN darlings Amberian Dawn, and a track from the current Guns N’ Roses guitarist, Bumblefoot! And take a listen to everything else. There HAS to be something you like today… I’m buying a bunch! Check ‘em out!
- Amberian Dawn – Shallow Waters (160 MSP)
- Buffalo Mad – Muestrame un Poco (160 MSP)
- Bumblefoot – Guitars SUCK (160 MSP)
- The Elms – Strut (80 MSP)
- The Giraffes – Done (80 MSP)
- The Gufs – Beautiful Disaster (160 MSP)
- Jonathan Coulton – Chiron Beta Prime (160 MSP)
- Ronald Jenkees – Guitar Sound (160 MSP)
The Giraffes – Done
Bumblefoot – Guitars Suck

Got the first gufs track on your say-so and really dug it. I will for the other a listen.
I love the one amberian dawn track I got (he sleeps in a grove) but somehow it seems to fulfill my quota for Finnish operatic metal.
I like Coulton’s stuff, but it really needs to be priced at 80, not 160.

lol.
Wow. That Bumblefoot song looks pretty darn ridiculous. Have fun with it, all you people who thought Satch Boogie and Caprici di Diablo were a bit lame guitar-wise (all four of you). But count me out. How in the world is this fun?
On the other hand, I can really recommend Guitar Sound. A bit like China Cat Sunflower on crack (this is intended as a compliment!).

On the one hand, yeah, I don’t personally see the appeal in over-the-top masturbate-my-fake-guitar sorts of offerings. Guitars Suck is decidedly not my cup of tea.
On the other hand, dude, by this point, I know I’ve purchased multiple songs off of the RBN for the kitschy/weird/novelty factor alone – songs that most people wouldn’t've considered in a month of Sundays. So eh, whatever floats individual folks’ boats; I’m not one to judge. It’s all good.

Ospero, dude, thank you very much for your recommendation. I really liked the song. I don’t think it sounds a lot like China Cat Sunflower (which is a song that I really love), but it’s a very pleasant song anyway.
I think I’ll be downloading this tune tonight. Thanks!
I’ve waited for Guitars Suck since RBA first announced it, and I was beginning to lose hope until Saturday when it was actually close to being released and was next on the orders. It looks harder than I thought it’d be, and that was already hard. I’ve saved 240 points for this. XD Gonna go download it in 10 mins or so… *nervous*

The process to properly author a song for Rock Band can be a long process, depending upon the proficiency of the author, the complexity of the song, and the contributions of the play testing/peer reviewing committee. It is not unheard of for it to take months to get songs ready.
What ever happened to that Evanescence RBN song? Going Under was always a great option for them. The people who are responsible for pushing the songs through are slacking or are just another bunch of Evanescence haters. I can’t tell you how often I come across the entire Evanescence pack when playing online, people buy it all over the place.
maybe they’re waiting for RB3 for the keys? That would be the only good explanation.

Sir, please calm down. There is no RBN conspiracy against Evanescence. I love that song just as much as anyone else. If you would have asked, I would have told you that the song failed its most recent peer review in late May and was never resubmitted. Why it has not remains a mystery only the author can address.

I’ve also been wondering what happened to it. I’m definitely willing to buy it if it ever makes it to the store.
Was very happy as always to see a new JoCo song go up. Bought it and played it this morning. Though it felt weird singing a Christmas song in July, it was still awesome.
I’d love to see some Ronald Jenkees stuff make it to PSN one day. Especially once RB3 is out since he’s doing it all on keyboards anyway. Good times!
I’m a bit sad “Done” is being overshadowed by the other awesome songs that came out here. It’s one of my RBN favorites, and that is unbiased. The video shows why.

Agreed. Can’t wait to play that when (if?) it makes its way to the PS3. Love the stoner/doom vibe the song has going, kinda straddling the space between Black Sabbath and Clutch stylistically.
Are these only available on x-box? I love the Elms but posses a PS3.
