Friday Followup – The Stooges & Bad Religion
OK, time to take a look at what people thought of next week’s punk DLC announcement. Apparently, it was largely receptive! While I’m not a huge fan of the punk genre, there are PLENTY of people who are. To those people I say “It’s called ROCK Band, not PUNK Band!1!” Sorry… I had TROLL MODE enabled. Let’s get on to the good stuff…
Whoa, slow down there, Matt Pinfield. I didn’t know “old school” had a set date range! What about “back in the day?” Is that older than “old school?”
I didn’t know which letters to blur out. You can’t figure out what swear word is being said, can you?
I looked up what that means in a dream book, and it actually said “Stooges DLC is coming to Rock Band next week.” Creepy.
If that’s the case, I’m just glad Iggy was the shirtless one, then. No one wants to see man-boobs jiggling while hitting high notes.
Holy crap… one epic week, indeed! Thanks for the heads up, sir!
That is ONE kinky fetish! The Rock Band instruments were not designed what that in mind. Please remember to disinfect them when done.
My Rock Band DLC Acceleration Machine™ is nearly complete. I’ll let you know when it’s complete. Only use for good, not evil, please.
Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk. You knucklehead! I’m happy you get to sing the part about “hating your mommy.” Sounds like you got issues to work out.
Wow! Not a bad way to end the week… I’ll take it! Have a good one, everybody!

YES! I made the Friday Followup! I’m so honored, RockBandAide!
Tommy needs to realize that there isn’t any Muse DLC coming anytime soon, at least not until after we get the keyboards.
In a related note, I wonder how he’d react to Muse DLC if it wasn’t the Muse DLC he wanted.

Probably the same way people reacted when RB got the Great Southern Trendkill.

HMX could release a full discography, including B-sides – and people would still bitch about it.

You *do* realize that’s the operator of the site, right? It’s a running gag…

I don’t think it’s about keyboards. Muse are a 3 piece band, guitar+voc/bass/drums. It’s more about the fact that Muse are on a label that aren’t playing ball with the MTV/RockBand guys. Warner or Paramount or somesuch? I can’t remember, but basically the label wanted a higher cut of the profits than Harmonix or EA or MTV were willing to give them, and so they’ve not licensed any bands from the label, unfortunately that includes muse.

So you’re saying that Warner Bros, Muse’s record label, is not letting them into Rock Band? The same Warner Bros who owns Reprise Records, who distributes Green Day? The same Green Day who just had their own Rock Band video game? OK…
You don’t know any of that for a fact, unfortunately. There could be any number of reasons why we haven’t seen Muse DLC in Rock Band yet (see my specific question to Harmonix answered here: http://rockbandaide.com/4175/john-d-from-harmonix-answers-your-questions/).
Am I the only one who is thankful that the dlc is crap next week? My wallet needs a break.

Yes, you are the only one.
The first comment just baffles me. The Stooges aren’t old school…cause they started too early…that’s just stupid.
Dancing with the Stars is coming to Guitar Hero!?!?! I just need to figure out this “mommy part” that they speak of…

No, it stands for Down… Wait, This Sucks.
Sweet I made the followup page with my half asleep tweet before rushing off to work! The cryptic one about waking up next to a hot chick.
Since we’re only allowed 140 characters, it kind of got compacted. I’ve been wanting Stooges in Rock Band forever now and have dreamed about the day they finally make it, so this morning I woke up at about 10:15 and saw the announcement up so it wasn’t like waking up next to someone you’ve been lusting after for a while now.
Does Tommy just not know about the keyboard or something? I would think dedicated Muse fans would be hopeful DLC didn’t show up from them until RB3 is out….if we were to get a pack before that didn’t have keyboard/harmonies/pro mode, there would be a shitstorm at the forums.

Agreed. If there is any Muse DLC coming our way, with all the goodness RB3 has to offer I hope it doesn’t come until after RB3 is released. Keys and harmonies for the win. Maybe then we cxan get some more Hot Hot Heat too. Perhaps the Bravery as well.

@Sean (couldn’t reply at your level for some reason) – The Bravery on RB would rock my socks right off.
I wonder if post keyboards we could see some Infected Mushroom.
There is ofcourse always some Muse songs possible for Rock Band which doesn’t have Keyboard, many songs, but ofcourse i don’t mind whenever Muse DLC comes out, if it does comes out atleast once! i’ve kinda had it with Hysteria now(great song but it’s been there now for a while!)
Pass on this week.
I consider myself to have a fairly broad taste in music but Ive never heard of either of these bands.
Oh well, maybe next week. (I’d kill for Chevelle btw)

You’ve heard of Iggy Pop right? Thats his breakthrough band if you have heard of him and if you haven’t heard of him then god help your soul for claiming to have a broad music taste.

haha, Ive heard of him. But I guess these bands are just to old for me. And I said ‘fairly’ broad…

I’d kill for baby by Justin Bieber (is being sarcastic…)
My reaction when I first saw..
“More Bad Religion! And EW STOOGES!”
*looks at Bad Religion songs*
OMG THIS WEEK SUCKS!
Say…how exactly can you stop being an old-school punk band in 1974, two or three years before the acknowledged breakthrough of the genre? Or was that tweet supposed to be ironic?
“It’s called ROCK Band, not PUNK Band!”
It’s funny, because Punk is just short for Punk Rock. So anyone who says that is a flipping moron.
Hurray for more punk rock coming! And some classic garage rock coming in the form of “I Wanna Be Your Dog.” Very exciting DLC.
Id like some klaus naomi so he can team up with iggy, so I can attempt to take on david bowie to become soviergn
