DLC for 7/13: Five Song Pack from The Vines
Oh Microsoft… two consecutive weeks you’ve let the Rock Band DLC slip. Last week they announced the Creedence Clearwater Revival pack early, and it looks like they’ve done the same thing this week in the Xbox Live Newsletter.
According to a transcript here, a pack from the Vines will be available on 7/13 for 680 MSP, which usually translates into 5 songs. No word on what those songs may be yet. Still a rumor for now, but this looks pretty legit to me.
UPDATE 1: According to HMXHenry, “FYI, that MS newsletter announcing DLC for The Vines next week is totally legit. Confirmed! Get ready to get your Aussie rock on.” I guess that answers that!
UPDATE 2: Unless I’m interpreting this incorrectly (which happens from time to time), Joystiq is reporting that MTV Games says there’s more DLC than just The Vines coming next week, so if they don’t “do it” for you, there’s still hope. I guess we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out!
[Thanks, Peter!]

It’s also in RB3.

But Get Free has already been confirmed for RB3, so that won’t be in a Vines pack.
I’m hoping Outtathaway! is one of the songs. I actually haven’t heard anything since Highly Evolved except for Ride.
Happy to see them as DLC – not happy they won’t have Pro Mode as Get Free will.
Also calling two of the songs now – Ride and Outtathaway!. Logic for the latter is that it was in the Aussie DLC pack for Guitar hero way back when.
Still haven’t seen the MS-leaked Spundgarden pack though…

Who is this “Spundgarden” of which you speak?
I’m not too excited about a Vines pack now that we already know we’re getting Get Free. I think Outtathaway was the only other song I really enjoyed off Highly Evolved, and I don’t think I’ve heard anything since that album…

Soundgarden. There was another ‘leak’ a while ago, but the songs haven’t shown up yet. Then again, more songs by Flyleaf were planned a few months ago, yet we only got one.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that the DLC won’t have the Pro charts already within the files. Harmonix could have been charting Pro and piano tracks since last year for all we know going by strange song selections like “Crocodile Rock” by Elton John from Lego Rock Band. Another example I’m gonna throw out there is that some DLC tracks have drum solos that are detectable by Rock Band 2 but not in Rock Band 1, like “Lucky Denver Mint” by Jimmy Eat World. Maybe DLC has been released already that have piano and Pro tracks already charted and they’ll be playable in Rock Band 3! :O
Then again, I’m dreaming big. We won’t know for sure until later in the year. ._.

Unfortunately, Dan Teasdale already mentioned that current DLC will not have “Rock Band 3″ features (with the exception of Pro drums) until Rock Band 3 comes out: http://rockbandaide.com/5885/rock-band-3-lead-designer-dan-teasdale-answers-your-questions/
OH MY DEAR SWEET HOLY CRAP OH MY GOOD GOLLY YES YES YES

And to add to that, this was something I predicted in my head – I figured the first RB3 band announced would get a pack next Tuesday. Hooray for meeeeee

SO TRUE! So pumped for this band!!!
Hell yeah, that is me who gave him that. I’m finally on the website. Shame he didn’t put my full name down.
The only song I know by them is “Get Free” I believe, and we’re already getting that. I’ll check their stuff out.
Bummer. I was hoping for Korn to coincide with their album release. Not a fan of the Vines.
All I wanted was “Get Free” so I’ll padd on this one.
not too big so i’ll pass
If Harmonix is going for up and coming Australian bands, can we pleeeeeeeeeeease get some Sick Puppies in this game?
Hmm… So.
Ride
Outtathaway!
Get Out
Highly Evolved
Anysound
Probably. Maybe Winning Days or a deeper cut in exchange for Anysound.
What was a hit by them? IDK them at all…

Get Free and Ride were their two biggest radio hits (at least here in northeast USA), also Outtathaway! was a minor hit as well.
Speaking of Outtathaway!, it sucks to think this song might not be getting harmony charting, I would always sing along with the harmony part when it came on the radio. God damnit HMX.
Just got confirmed by @HMXHenry on Twitter:
“FYI, that MS newsletter announcing DLC for The Vines next week is totally legit. Confirmed! Get ready to get your Aussie rock on.”
